The Ibadan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1962 for the promotion and protection of Trade and Industry and to represent and express the opinion of the business community on matters affecting Trade and Industry in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State and where applicable, the whole Federation. It is incorporated in August, 1966 as a non-profit making organization and its income and property are applied solely for the promotion of its objects.

In the pursuit of its objectives, the Chamber is committed to no political creed.

Standing Committees and Sectoral Groups were setup to cater for a variety of interests.
The Chamber assist the promotion of Commerce, Trade, Industry, Mines & Agriculture by its members in the Oyo state of Nigeria within the laws governing the State and the Federation.

The Chamber co-operate in any way with Government Departments or Committees in the furtherance of any acts or projects which the Chamber believes will be beneficial to Commerce, Trade, Industry, Mines & Agriculture in Oyo state.

 Join, associate, or affiliate with any other Chamber of Commerce or Association of Chambers of Commerce in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.

The Chamber promote, support, or oppose legislative or other measures affecting the aforesaid interests.
To watch over, promote and protect the mutual interests of its members and to give advice to members in their capacity in Commerce, Trade, Industry, Mines & Agriculture.

The Chamber’s publications are among the leading works of reference used by overseas business in connection with trade and investment opportunities in Nigeria.

The Chamber is recognized as the official body through which local opinion on commercial and industrial matters can be presented directly to Government or other authorities both national and local. It is frequently consulted by government in advance of the preparation of new legislation affecting the business community.
